Taib Abdulrahman Basheeib is the Director of Reachout Centre Trust, an organization that was established in 2003 to provide preventive and treatment services to those affected by or vulnerable to drug abuse and HIV/AIDS in the Coastal Region of Kenya.
He is currently pursing BSc Public Health degree at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has a vast experience in Harm Reduction Program and Human Rights advocacy for 15 years in Kenya. He was a program supervisor in 2005 under the project KEN 108 by UNODC, working in the field of prevention treatment and support for People who inject drugs and People who use drugs.
Over the past 12 years Taib has specialized in harm reduction interventions for PWUD in the coast region. Specifically, these include advocacy on rights of PWUD, Drug Policy Reforms and capacity building of service providers with monitoring and evaluation.
He is much involved in project/program design, Management, Capacity Building and Advocacy in the Kenya Harm Reduction Network where he is the secretary of the Network.
